CIGUAPROD CENTER
Opened in September 2019, the CIGUAPROD Center main activities focus on the in vitro culturing of various microalgae endemic to French Polynesian lagoons, and the subsequent valorization of the various compounds (most notably, phycotoxins) sourced from these organisms.

Since 1967, the Laboratory of Marine Biotoxins has specialized in the study of Ciguatera Poisoning and its health impacts on local populations.
This laboratory is now recognized as a reference in the field of ciguatera research both at the Pacific Region and international levels.

LOUIS MALARDÉ INSTITUTE
Established in 1949, the Louis Malardé Institute (ILM) is a public industrial and commercial institution (EPIC) under the authority of the Ministry of Health in charge of Prevention of the country of French Polynesia.
It is governed by the Délibération n° 2000-114 APF du 28 septembre 2000 and the Arrêté n° 1834 CM du 29 décembre 2000 which specify its operating rules.
ILM provides analytical services and conducts research and surveillance activities in the fields of health, environment, hygiene and food.
